Motivated students only: Sabio is a professional coding school that offers rigorous training sessions for the aspiring programmer in you. It’s a popular market for coding schools, so Sabio goes beyond the basic training offered by many other competitors—they only bring the best to their team, hiring less than 1% of the engineers that apply to teach. They also have an established and interactive community of Sabio fellows, and their mentorship and support extend past the training program for an additional five years.
Compared to typical programs that provide about 480 hours of training, Sabio’s coding boot camp is like taking on a full-time job. Sabio offers almost 2,000 hours of total training, and the 12-week long, Monday-Friday classes go from 9 AM to 7 PM. Apart from the school program, Sabio also offers developing services to companies. Past clients of Sabio’s include Activision, Facebook, StackOverflow, and Ikea.
If you’re seriously considering coding school, you can attend one of Sabio’s free info sessions to find out what you might be in for. The sessions are held on Wednesdays from 6-7:30 PM, at ROC’s Vine location. The info sessions are also a great place to meet other programmers, receive help on your baffling coding problems, and learn more about coding. The sessions are led by Aaron Gibson, one of Sabio’s Senior Developer/Instructors. You’ll be in good hands—before joining Sabio, Aaron worked in the industry as a developer for over a decade.
