Technori Event – February 14th, 2013 @ROC

Technori Meetup LA is a group of impassioned starters, developers, designers, tech companies, investors and general startup enthusiasts who have a deep love for Los Angeles and want to see our emerging startup community flourish. By way of editorial content and events throughout the year, Technori is dedicated to fostering relationships and building a startup community, not just a startup economy. One of the group’s primary events is Technori Pitch, held at Real Office Centers (ROC). Held monthly, the event brings home-grown companies developing the most innovative technologies on stage to present their latest and greatest ideas. Whether you’re deeply immersed in the LA startup scene or an onlooker ready to jump in, Technori MeetUp is where it’s at.

Keynote speaker Brian Wong kicked off the evening by saying that he was as puzzled as everyone else in the crowd as to why a “gamer” in his young twenties is the Technori Meetup opening speaker. It didn’t take long before he had the crowd rolling in laughter and hanging on his every word. Brian is the co-founder and CEO of Kiip (pronounced “keep”), a mobile rewards network which has raised over $15 million and is touted as “turning the world of mobile advertising on its head.” Dubbed the youngest person ever to receive venture capital funding by CNBC and The Wall Street Journal, Brian skipped four grades and received his BA degree at 18. He has been recognized as Business Insider’s Top 25 Under 25 in Silicon Valley, 30 Under 30 in Advertising and 18 Most Important People in Mobile Advertising, and that’s just the beginning.

This Technori Meetup didn’t stop there, as, Stone+Cloth, Bitium, StaffRanker, and Battlefy all educated the crowd with their emerging startups. After the speakers, guests continued outside to the patio where they met with like minds and soaked in the post-show energy on the brand new ROC Santa Monica rooftop deck (it’s pretty glorious if you haven’t seen it for yourself yet).

A memorable night indeed – don’t miss out on any more of the action! Be sure to check the ROC website for a list of all upcoming events.
